Works selected for display may not be removed until the exhibit conclusion. Failure to comply with the cancellation policy may result in denial from future exhibitions.

INTEGRITY
The Norfolk Arts Center staff and the Visual Arts Committee implement a structured pre-juror screening process to ensure the integrity, fairness, and transparency of its juried exhibition, conducted in a viewpoint-neutral manner before submissions reach the independent juror. This includes: (1) initial administrative review for completeness (entry form with originality, fees, high-resolution images, and timely submission); (2) technical/eligibility verification (recent original work, size/weight limits, professional presentation, and preliminary plagiarism checks via reverse image search); and (3) content/ethical review for legal compliance (no obscenity, defamation, copyright infringement, or hate speech per U.S. laws) and suitability for an all-ages community audience (discouraging explicit nudity, graphic sexual imagery, extreme violence, or profanity while encouraging inclusive themes). All steps are documented with a two-person review to prevent bias, and passing entries are anonymized for blind jurying—protecting artistic expression while upholding the NAC’s mission and preventing post-selection controversies. The Norfolk Arts Center has the right to refuse any piece of artwork which is not representative of the artwork previously approved by the visual arts committee. The Norfolk Arts Center maintains the right to disqualify any piece of artwork which compromises the integrity of the Norfolk Arts Center, its mission, or its structural capabilities.
