19th Annual Juried Show – Diversity
Welcome to the 18th Annual Juried Show! We are proud to feature a diverse range of artists who have been carefully selected to exhibit their work. This show highlights the unique creativity, techniques, and perspectives that each artist brings to our gallery.
Meet the Juror – Julia Noyes
I’m a full-time artist from Nebraska with extensive travel experience in the US and abroad. As a result of these travel and study experiences, I am known for creating diverse motifs such as abstracts, portraits, landscapes and florals. While my main works are often very large, colorful abstracts inspired by my travels, I also do commissions in various styles and sizes.
I am also influenced by curating, teaching, managing and owning a cooperativeart gallery featuring over one hundred artists each month for over thirty years. I recently sold the Noyes Art Gallery to my assistant but continue to be involved at the Clements Noyes Art Gallery. It was an incredible learning experience.
In tandem with creating art, I have always been a passionate teacher and arts administrator. I was one of the first directors at the Norfolk Arts Center in 1983 before leaving to go study art in Florence, Italy. I continue to teach painting part-time at Union Adventist University in Lincoln.
I am obsessed with color and design. My goal is to create different motifs in various painting styles every day. I’m grateful my art is in many collections, like the Museum of Nebraska Art, and connects with people.
