Crafting Comics and Slime: August Classes
With school starting in August, summer is almost at an end. We’re finishing off our summer season with a bang – just like how we kicked off summer. We have two more classes left plus a sensational Second Saturday.
By popular demand, we’ve brought back our slime class. Return of the Slime will be on Friday, August 10th from 10:30-12:30. Kids will learn how to make slime and oobleck. Come dressed for mess as we will be experimenting with these non-Newtonian liquids in unexpected ways!
August 18th is The Craft of Comics for teens and adults. We’re bringing in comics professional Nathanial Hamel to lead a workshop in character creation and sequential art. Come to learn how to turn your ideas into a visual story.
Our August edition of Second Saturday is on the 11th from 1-3 p.m. Second Saturday features an open-house studio. This month we will be working with mixed media. Stop by and create your own unique piece.
SAVE THE DATE: Our Riverpoint Festival is Saturday, September 22nd! We’re bringing back our art festival as part of the festivities. There will be an open-air artist market in the parking lot of the NAC. Indoors, we will have our children’s festival with crafts and clowns. There will be something for everyone! The Riverpoint Festival runs from 11-3. Watch the parade from our front lawn, then join us for afterward for our festival!
